SISTER
CAROLE RILEY APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE STUDIES
Congratulations to Sr. Carole Riley, Executive Director,
who has recently been appointed as Director of Graduate
Studies at the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne
University.
Furthermore, in
an interview with James Anderson, president and founder of
James Anderson Audio and recipient of 23 Grammy nominations
and 9 Grammy Awards, in the Duquesne Univerisity news, Mr.
Anderson spoke of Sr. Carole's impact as a mentor:
"Many people
mentored me and singling out one excludes many great and
influential individuals. I would, however, offer Sister
Carole Riley. Using her kind, gentle and patient spirit, she
showed me, through tough love, the value and worth of hard
work. A few years ago, I dropped by Sister Carole's studio
to say hello. She was in the middle of a lesson. I saw at
the piano bench a young man, who could have been me at one
time, struggling through a piece. I said to him: 'Two
things: one -- soon this well be over and two -- listen to
everything she says, because she's right!' I loved seeing
the smile on her face that I saw her trying to hide."
